Second Street Festival is a cultural celebration of Richmond's African-American community, and it will be chock full of performers, musicians, great local food, and more! In the Kids Zone, we will be having festival-inspired craft stations for the little artists and interactive games for those children who want to burn off a little steam! We provide activities for over 2000 children.
The Children's Museum of Richmond, a not-for-profit organization, exists to create innovative learning experiences for all children and those who support them that inspire the next generation of creative problem solvers. We aim to support the families attending the Second Street Festival through fun and innovative learning experiences.
Clothing should be clean, casual, and conservative. No yoga pants, tank tops, pajamas, ripped jeans, leggings, or athletic wear. Volunteers should wear closed-toe shoes to prevent injuries. Jewelry should be kept to a minimum. The festival takes place rain or shine, so be prepared with rain gear (we will be under tents but rain boots can be super helpful).
The Kids Zone is in the parking lot across from the Hippodrome. 2nd Street is a Street festival and most of the parking will be street parking. Please be prepared: car-pool, bike (if you can), or get dropped off (if you can).
