The Volunteer Office Coordinator is a non-paid job opportunity at The Dorit and Ben J. Genet Cupboard food pantry, with a market layout and responsible of supporting all team members to run operations and ensure services are provided according Goodman Jewish Family Services of Broward (GJFS) standards. The pantry is a unique workspace closely link to the food industry, non-profit sector and social work field.
The Dorit & Ben J. Genet Cupboard is one of the GJFS fastest growing programs that serve almost 600 families by providing them kosher food to alleviate hunger in Broward’s Jewish community. During its first year of service the pantry have been able to serve Holocaust Survivors and help families overcome their social-economic challenges, with the support of dedicated volunteers.
Jewish Family Services of Broward County was first established in 1962 and received 501(c)3 not-for-profit status the following year. Since then, GJFS has continued to expand and provide services to improve and strengthen the quality of life for all. The Organization’s whole-person approach starts with food provision through the delivery of groceries to homebound families or booking an appointment to pick up items at The Dorit and Ben J. Genet Cupboard food pantry.Responsibilities: · Answer phone and channeling inquiries. · Schedule client’s appointments by phone· Maintain client services’ documentation off and on database systems. · Handling some correspondence· Maintain stock levels for office, warehouse and break room supplies and gather inquiries from the staff. · Filing and organizing documents· Schedule staff and operation’s appointments at Outlook· Design client and volunteer’s notifications. · Update grocery signage and informational boards. · Assist in our food pantry as needed and serve clients who come to pick up groceries. · Provide outstanding services and ensure customer satisfaction.· Merchandise and facing items at shelves, if necessary.

Skills Required:· Ability to work with diverse clientele, creating a friendly, helpful atmosphere · Good organizational skills, ability to work on multiple tasks in a growing and changing environment, with flexibility/adaptability· Proficient in English with good written and oral communications skills· Must be detail-oriented and organized · Proficient use of computers, basic office software and any other database software(s)

Jewish Family Service of Broward has a multitude of services to help and assist people of all walks of lives. The Cupboard is a kosher choice pantry which will offer dry goods, produce, dairy and chicken for our clients, as well as a delivery program for home bound seniors and families in need. JFS also offers Family Link, care management for older and disabled adults, counseling, including a Holocaust Survivor program, Domestic Abuse counseling, and Joshua's Path, counseling for families with adults with disabilities.
