On Saturday mornings here at Healthwin we paint the ladies nails. This consists of light filing and removing old nail polish off and putting on new. Conversing with the Residents, transporting them to and from their rooms. We like to give the ladies a little bit of pampering to make them feel special. If you are interested feel free to contact me. Our Volunteer's fill out the application that you can pick up at our front desk or go to www.healthwin.org and go under the Volunteer tab. Print off and fill out the application. Bring the application into Healthwin and we will set you up for a TB test. Within 48 hours after the test is administered you will come back to the facility and a nurse will read it and then you are cleared to Volunteer! If you have had a TB test within the last year we would just need a copy and then you can start right away. We also ask for a copy of your drivers license or state ID for your file. This process is simply to protect our Residents. Thank you.

Description
Healthwin is a facility that started in 1908. We are rated a 5 star facility with exceptional care for our Residents. We offer various activities that Residents can participate in and have an outstanding Music and Memory program. My personal history raising an autistic child has given me great strength and patience. I worked as a Chef for 20 plus years and wanted to make more of a difference by giving back. So I accepted the position of Volunteer Coordinator at Healthwin and realized this is where I should of been. My goals are to recruit individuals with the compassion for our elderly and individuals with big hearts to bring a ray of sunshine to our residents hearts. We have several different opportunities that you can share your time with our residents whether it is a fifteen minute one on one visit, a music and memory therapy visit, join in on an activity, or just come and help put a puzzle together with one of our residents. We partnership with several colleges, high-middle schools in the Michiana area. We have several retired adults that come and spend their time helping and visiting. We have achieved excellence when it comes to our volunteers. Healthwin has the five star rating and our volunteers are a big part of what makes Healthwin great.
