Greetings!
Our Hospice organization in Glendale is looking for dedicated volunteers who can assist with clerical duties in the office as well as assist occasionally on the field with direct patient care. This person will be will be committing to 6- 8 hours a day 1-2 times a week. This position is ideal for people in the following field or field of study: healthcare administration, administrative assistant, public health, business, healthcare, senior care, elder care, psychology, social work, sociology, etc.
Qualifications:
-Must be enrolled in college in related field
-Must have reliable transportation
-Must be at least 18 years of age
-Must complete a medical screening
-Must complete a background check

Hospice Volunteer Training is a program where we select qualified persons who can fit well with patients who have a terminal illness through several organizations. We match volunteers to Hospices where they will excel the most. We offer training and orientation, continued education for all volunteers, certificates of completion and excellence. Whether volunteers are students trying to gain experience or if you just want to give back to the community. We hope that we find individuals who can successfully achieve their goals and provide helpful assistance to Hospice organizations within the Los Angeles County.
Description
Hospice volunteers provide companionship to people living with a serious illness and help their families caregivers in a variety of ways. Hospice also rely on volunteers to help with office work, fund raising, community outreach and other operational areas.
