Help the Kubota Garden Foundation prepare for it's Fall Plant Sale!


PLANT SALE PREP WORK PARTIES

  • Wednesday, August 28th 10AM-1PM is our big cleanup day. 15 volunteers are needed
  • Tuesday-Thursday September 3-4 9:30AM-12PM AND 12:30-3PM Label plants, unload deliveries, setup table, and organize, organize, organize! 5 volunteers per shift are needed.
  • Friday September 6 9:30-12PM Last minute touches!

Location: Kubota Garden Nursery (next to the garden crew quarters)

Get your hands dirty in the plant nursery, weeding, pruning, and plant nurturing. Leave your tools at home, we got you covered! All experience levels are welcome.

Meet at the Kubota Garden's Nursery. The nursery is behind the Garden's Crew Quarters, located just south of the garden's parking lot. Follow the path located just past the Exit sign and enter the fence located on your right.

The Kubota Garden Foundation's bi-yearly plant sales are major fundraisers for the Kubota Foundation. Profits from plants sales go to support the foundation activities including providing free public tours, organizing volunteers, and handling publicity and capital project resources for the Kubota Garden.

The Kubota Garden Foundation, founded in 1988, is a non-profit corporation that was established to support, enhance, and perpetuate the Kubota Garden within the spirit of Fujitaro Kubota.

Description

The Kubota Garden Foundation (KGF) is a non-profit 501(c3) organization formed in 1989 to continue a partnership with the City and assure the preservation of the entire 20-acre garden as envisioned by the Kubota family. With the support of staff, KGF volunteers implement many programs and projects: conduct tours, greet visitors, help with garden maintenance, and organize publicity and capital projects to build special garden features such as the Terrace Overlook. Working with partner organizations, volunteers implement free cultural and educational events.
