Join the team at our hospice houses in Columbia and Lexington! By joining our team of volunteers, you will be serving alongside nurses, nurse assistants and others, supporting patients, families and the community 24/7/365. The volunteer team offers opportunities such as:
Hospitality Volunteers: meet/greet patients and families; help them feel comfortable during their stay.
Room Visitor Volunteers: visit patients in their rooms to improve quality of life.
Mealtime Volunteers: pick up donations, be of service in the dining area (does not include feeding).
Administrative Volunteers: provide support at the front desk by helping with organizational tasks and directing those who have questions.
Code Comfort Volunteers: sit with patients who are within 24-48 hours of dying to ensure they are not alone.
Pet Therapy Volunteers: visit patients with your licensed therapy animal.
Music Volunteers: play music and/or sing for our patients.
General Support Volunteers: beautification inside and outside the hospice house, room maintenance, community outreach.
