ORGANIZATION: THINK DIGNITY

  • 10 people are interested

Think Dignity, a San Diego-based 501(c)(3) organization, aims to inspire, empower, and organize our communities to advance basic dignity for those experiencing homelessness through the provision of legal advocacy and social services.

The Fresh Start Showers program--the largest program in our line of Mobile Operations of Dignity (MOD) Squad services--travels to 13 sites throughout San Diego County to provide access to basic hygiene services for those experiencing homelessness. Our shower events also serve as a resource hub as we invite other agencies and community partners to provide services and opportunities to restore dignity, such as mental health and medical assistance, hot meals, haircuts, and clean clothes.

For Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Chula Vista, the Fresh Start Showers program provides services every 3rd Thursday of the month. Volunteer shifts will be from 8:30am - 1:30pm.

Volunteers can support the Fresh Start Showers events by:
- Managing the resource table and assisting with intake/exit forms
- Ensuring cleanliness and safety of showers units and monitoring shower times
- Distributing and replenishing the shower supply table

Please contact Christine Lopez at christine@thinkdignity.org if you have any questions.
