Meals on Wheels Central Texas’ "Connecting Seniors with Technology" (CSWT) program needs volunteers to help our older and disabled homebound clients.
The goal of the program is to keep our clients connected to family, friends and the community by increasing their knowledge and comfort level with technology.
Meals on Wheels Central Texas will provide each CSWT client with:
- a Chromebook tablet
- 12 weeks of in-home sessions for technical assistance and training
The competencies that volunteers will help teach include areas such as:
- How to do Google searches,
- How to use email,
- Functions of the Chromebook and keyboard,
- Computer safety and security
- What is social media,
- How to video chat
- How to navigate the Internet.
The clients will drive the prioritization and time spent on different areas based on their interest levels, so volunteers will need to be flexible and foster curiosity to uncover interest areas that clients newly discover.

We distribute over 3,000 meals every business day to homebound seniors and people with disabilities, and provide other crucial services like in-home care, home repairs, respite care, grocery shopping and delivery, and pet care.
