It is my pleasure to introduce you to UCP Wheels for Humanity (UCPW), an organization that I am extremely passionate about. UCPW works around the world to improve the lives of people with mobility disabilities. This is a huge issue, with an estimated 75 million children, women, and men globally in need of a wheelchair. When an individual lacks mobility they are not able to attend school, work outside the home, or participate fully in their community. A wheelchair provides more than mobility - it provides an opportunity for a better quality of life.
I would be delighted if you could help with us continue to provide wheelchairs to those in need, by volunteering at our Annual Wheels in Motion gala on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at the Skirball Center in Los Angeles. The event draws more than 300 business, community and philanthropic leaders from across the greater-Los Angeles community.
We need volunteers to assist with registration, ushering and the set up/run through of our silent auction. We would be more than happy to provide proof of volunteering for any community service hour requirements for our volunteers, as well as recommendation letters.

Mission Statement
UCP Wheels for Humanity provides access to mobility to people with disabilities in developing countries.
Description
According to the World Health Organization, there are more than 70 million people in the world who need a wheelchair but don't have one. Founded in 1996, UCP Wheels for Humanity provides appropriately fitted wheelchairs and quality of life services to children and adults with physical disabilities in developing countries. We also serve as an advocate and capacity-building partner to local organizations, so we can build sustainable, community-based systems that create long-term change. Over the course of our 21-year history UCP Wheels has worked in over 75 countries and touched the lives of more than 313,300 people. Find out more at our website: www.ucpwheels.org
