VNA California, Visiting Nurse Association, is seeking PET THERAPY VOLUNTEERS to provide visits and companionship to hospice patients. Caring volunteers arrive with their trained therapy dogs to bring comfort, a smile, and companionship to the patients day.
Many patients have trouble communicating and expressing themselves during this sensitive time, but through the unconditional love provided by a therapy animal they may feel relief in this source of non-verbal and emotional therapy. Your therapy dog is truly a very special source of comfort to those in need.
No medical experience necessary. Training is free and very easy and we will work with your schedule.
Volunteering is a "gift" of giving that will remain with you forever. It will be one of the best things you will ever do!
