Cellphone Connection

Volunteer Action for Aging is a volunteer service program that provides activities for seniors designed to increase socialization and an overall sense of well-being.

Why is socialization so vital? 43% of older Americans report feeling lonely and medical experts say social isolation needs to be seen as a public-health issue.

Cyber Senior Program Description: Volunteers are paired with a senior or small group of seniors to answer questions about their personal tech devices (smartphone, tablet): how to text, save a contact, use Facebook, set calendar reminders, etc.

Qualifications: Bilingual Korean speaking; interested in seniors, social, able to work with clients of a diverse background, patient, comfortable with technology (you don't have to be an expert!). Must be 18+ years old.

Time Commitment: just 2-4 hours per month! Ideally available 1-2 times a month on a weekday sometime between 10am-4pm

Location: Anaheim / 92805

Empower a senior to embrace technology which can help them stay connected to their loved ones and the community! By offering your time, you too are helping combat social isolation that many seniors experience.
