Colorado Springs Food Rescue hosts an annual fundraiser each year called the Harvest Celebration and this year will be the 5th Annual Harvest Celebration at the future site of the Hillside Hub, a neighborhood food center we are developing in the Southeast side of town. Over dinner and drinks from more than 20 local restaurants, breweries, and wineries and an array of incredible auction items, we will be unveiling the progress in the development of the Hillside Hub's Community Learning Farm, Indigenous learning garden, and Compost Park, as well as sharing detailed plans for the site’s 2020 construction
We are seeking volunteers who can support our staff by soliciting and collecting auction items from businesses in the community, Reaching out to possible sponsors and general event admin support. This work can be done remotely and on your own time. (with due dates of course) VERY FLEXIBLE
Position Needs:
Strong speaking skill
strong phone skills
not intimidated by asking businesses for money
Strong research skills and organization skills

Mission Statement
Food to Power is a non-profit organization whose goal is to create a more just and less wasteful food system. We facilitate the sustainable redistribution of food "waste" to agencies that feed hungry, homeless, and low-income populations while educating communities about and advocating for food justice and the reduction of structural poverty.
Description
Food to Power functions through a volunteer based direct redistribution programming, picking up food that would otherwise be thrown out and delivering that food directly to an organization that will disperse that food to those in need. These volunteers mainly deliver the food by bicycle.
