Hospice Companion: Volunteers needed in Northfield, Fairbault, Dundas areas.
Help enrich someone's last moments by becoming a Hospice Volunteer!
Brighton Hospice is currently seeking for companion volunteers in the Northfield, Fairbault, and Dundas areas to spend time with our patients and families.
Companion volunteer activities include, but are not limited to: listening to patient's concerns, being a comforting and supportive presence, holding a hand, listening to cherished memories, giving a hug, being a shoulder to lean on, touching a heart, reminiscing with patients, playing board or card games, discussing current events, encouraging patient to tell his/her life story and recording it on paper or recorder, allowing time for caregivers to take care of themselves, informing hospice staff of the needs of the hospice patient and family, playing music, writing notes and memories for patient, sewing or knitting together, reading aloud, arts and crafts, scrapbooking, journaling patient's past experiences, painting patient's nails, etc.

Brighton Hospice recognizes that the dying process is a part of the normal process of living and focuses on enhancing the quality of remaining life. Our team is made up of our Medical Director, Director of Nursing, nurse case managers, hospice aides, social worker, chaplain, a dietitian, volunteers, and a stellar support team. We are able to provide many levels of care for hospice, including: Routine Home Care, General Inpatient Care, Respite Care, and Continuous Care. Brighton Hospice will provide you and your family with the quality care you deserve.
