Wildfires are devastating communities across California, causing more than 300,000 people to evacuate their homes and threatening many more. The Camp Fire in Northern California -- one of three blazing across the state -- is the most destructive in state history. We want to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you find access to shelter. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know the most effective ways to contribute.
Do you love to garden or would you like to learn? Then consider volunteering your time with the Friends of Heirloom Flowers - a volunteer garden club responsible for maintaining the flower gardens at Shinn Historic Park & Arboretum - a Fremont Historical Park. We are looking for volunteers to work with us on Tuesday mornings from 10 am to noon at the park located at 1251 Peralta Blvd., (off Mowry Avenue) Fremont and we hope that you will consider membership in our garden club. At noon you are invited to join us for a social tea and coffee with homemade baked goods in our onsite cottage.
