The world of conventional / western medicine has many supporters already embracing reductionism. AlterMed Research Foundation takes a holistic view to integrate mind-body-spirit based on science and various disciplines to find the best solutions for human health and wellness, free of chronic illness and cancer.

AlterMed Research Foundation (www.AlterMedResearch.org) is seeking influential board members (philanthropists who can help with nonprofit endowment and development & fundraising, credible PhD researchers of autoimmune / chronic stress and/or inflammation, credentialed and experienced geneticists or genetic researchers who are versed in human genomes, and experienced data scientist / Artificial Intelligence human healthcare solution architect / strategist with PhD) interested in evidence-based integrative and holistic medicine for board positions (with responsibilities for governance, strategic leadership, and fundraising). Using the latest technologies and applying them in health care, beyond current conventional medicine treating only symptoms, we are beginning to have information to understand our unique genomes, gene expression, and enjoy having more and more personalized and targeted health solutions. We hope for ongoing days where we can all experience optimum health and wellness to pursue our dreams, not having to worry about health issues like chronic illness, cancer, and / or aging body parts.

Each board term is 3 years. Board members are expected to uphold fiduciary responsibilities, participate in strategic planning and reviews, be ambassadors of the non-profit, head up various committees especially in area of expertise to advance AlterMed's goals, fundraise by cultivating donors and philanthropists, make annual donations to AlterMed, attend twice a year board meetings, and contribute time to further the non-profit's mission.

Other than serious philanthropists interested to help AlterMed build endowments to advance human holistic health, AlterMed is seeking influential credentialed board members with a minimum of 10 years of effective & combined work leadership experience in human health, non-profits, and / or in the related sciences such as PhD in machine learning, data science, statistics in healthcare, research of chronic stress / inflammation / autoimmune conditions, etc, who have a passion in eradicating human cancer and chronic illness to combine multi-disciplines and leading edge technologies (e.g. medicine, biochemistry, artificial intelligence, data science, genetics / genomics) to help chronically ill patients to better navigate the medical system, and also to help find cures, better treatments, diagnostics, and prevention through evidence-based integrative medicine research, education, and tools.

The mission of AlterMed Research Foundation is to be a change agent, through education, research and patient access, to achieve the full integration of evidence-based complementary and alternative medicine into conventional healthcare so all people can enjoy optimum wellness. AlterMed plans to focus in 3 areas: (1) to increase under-served personalized patient access to personalized integrative medicine for chronic illness and cancer - collaborate with universities and partners to understand and / or find mechanisms, causes, holistic treatments / cures, and prevention, leveraging the power of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Genomics, and Big Data using holistic datasets, (2) obtain funding for annual integrative medicine conferences with Continuous Medical Education credits (e.g. successful past Colorado Integrative Medicine Conferences jointly sponsored by the University of Colorado School of Medicine), (3) raise endowment / operating budget for AlterMed's mission and staffing.

Interviews with a few existing board members may be required.

This volunteer must be a US Citizen and / or a legal US resident (preferably located in Northern Colorado)
