We are looking for someone interested in taking on a volunteer project to update our Nature Nook area. The Nature Nook is a public indoor area at the Garden where young children can explore nature. The Nature Nook Area includes a microscope, different examples of seeds and vegetables, plant rubbing plates and coloring sheets, magnetic insects, and various other hands-on activities and educational displays. The area is perfect for preschool age children and also houses our educational box turtle Carlos. We would like to make several updates to the displays and materials in the area. A volunteer with an interest in environmental education, time to follow up on the project, and some ability to work on bulletin boards, graphics, or signs would be ideal.
