When I first became a Volunteer Coordinator, the thing I heard the most from our families and patients was that the people who volunteered for them made such an incredible difference. Not just good, not just average, or a nice difference, but an incredible difference.
That is why I love to get volunteers signed up and going with us here at Compassus Hospice, because I know it will make an incredible difference.
Oftentimes our volunteers will simply sit with a patient while a caregiver runs to the store, the bank or the post office to do needed errands. Simple. Not difficult. But what a difference it makes for someone who just needs someone to be there with the patient or loved one while they are gone.
It is not hard. Why not become a volunteer. We train you. We work with your time frame and schedule. It is simple. Get started soon and make an incredible difference for someone. Our volunteers bring a lot to the table by just being there. A compassionate presence.
All it takes is you saying yes.
We have an amazing crew who makes a difference in the last part of our patients journey. We honor them and we treat people with dignity for their WHOLE life.
We also have volunteers who help by working here in our office and assist us with the necessary framework of filing, scanning, paperwork that goes with each patient and their medical needs. Perhaps you would enjoy working in an office environment as a volunteer.
