Organization for Women and Development International (OFED International) empowers women and their children in developing countries by strengthening capacities while promoting an environment that will guarantee a better quality of life for their communities.

Our activities range from supporting rural women' entrepreneurship, increasing access to clean water and proper sanitation, to promoting a culture of reading among children in rural areas.

OFED International is seeking new Board of Director Members to help the organization grow its operations in Washington DC.

Position: Board Member

Job description:

The Board member will support and sustain the work of OFED International, provide governance leadership, and strategic fundraising support. This work will be completed through knowledge and expertise of the field and key stakeholders involved.

Specific responsibilities:

• Promote the organization and serve as its public face

• Attend regular meetings

• Serve as an active ongoing member of at least one committee

• Commit time to developing financial resources

• Responsibly review and act upon committee recommendations brought to the board for action

• In general, utilize personal and professional skills, relationships and knowledge to the advancement of OFED International
  

OFED’s Board of Directors members will serve a two-year term to be eligible for reappointment for one additional term. Board meetings will be held at least 4 times during the year (online or face-to-face).
