Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Unity Hospice of Chicagoland, Northwest Indiana, Greater St. Louis and Houston

  • 3 people are interested

A limited number of positions are open for the special role of Compasionate Companion. As a Compassionate Companion you will provide presence, emotional support, and education for hospice patients and loved ones during the last hours of life.

Compassionate Companions are carefully screened and trained. Scheduling will be on an as-needed basis and is voluntary. There is comprehensive support from the hospice care team for volunteers. This isn't a volunteer opportunity for everyone- this is a calling to serve others at their most vulnerable.

Increasingly, we find that people are reaching the end of life without support. Friends and family may be geographically far, estranged, unavailable, or the dying person may have simple outlived their loved ones. Unity Hopsice is fully committed to ensuring that people receiving our care will not die alone.

To learn more about this program, please contact us. We will be happy to speak with you about the possibility of becoming a Compassionate Companion.
