Literary Legends honors the accomplishments of local authors and publishers, and raises funds for the Albany Public Library. A party in the library, Literary Legends moves around to different branches. Wine, hors d’ourves, dancing, and great conversations with other lovers of literature, between the stacks in the Library at night. In 2020, we moved our 7th Annual Gala to your house. We aim to hold this year's gala at the Pine Hills Branch.

Literary Legends is put together through the work of volunteers, and we need many hands on deck to make the party a success. At this time, we welcome expressions of interest from people who would like to join the Gala Committee. We are also accepting nominations of Literary Legends honorees, and welcome volunteers who would like to research our nominees.

GALA COMMITTEE:
The Gala Committee meets monthly from March through August, and bi-weekly or weekly from Labor Day until the Gala. Volunteers are welcome from all backgrounds and experience levels. Volunteers perform a variety of tasks including event planning, writing and editing, phone outreach and solicitation, and event set-up and breakdown. Joining the Gala Committee is a 6-9 month commitment, but how much time you dedicate is up to you. It could be as little as 4 hours hours per month. Some members make a piece of the checklist (silent auction packet, silent auction outreach, Evening with the Author reception, wine pull, etc) their full-time project for about two weeks of the year.

NOMINATIONS:
Is there a great writer, editor, or publisher from the Capital Region who you think deserves to be honored? Send us your nomination by January 18th!
Use this Google Form--> https://forms.gle/5fSq753ea6GhkmVv6

BIOGRAPHIES:
We need to produce biographies and bibliographies of our nominees, finalists, and our Literary Legend.
You could help on biographies for a week or two, or all the way until March 17, when our Legend Announcement goes public.

Literary Legends takes place on the 3rd Saturday of October.
The 8th Annual Literary Legends Gala will take place on October 16, 2021.
