Foster homes are needed for Heartland Animal Shelter's kittens, cats, puppies and dogs! Fostering an animal in need is one of the most rewarding experiences. Sometimes pets need fostering due to health, age or temperament. Opening your home to an animal not only ensures that they will stay healthier and happier while awaiting adoption, but it saves lives by allowing us to add more animals to our program!

Fostering commitments can be as short as one night (dogs) or two weeks (cats), or for several weeks or more. If you have a loving home and desire to help animals, we can find the right animal to fit your situation.

While fostering is done from home, foster parents must live near the shelter in order to bring in their foster pet(s) for medical appointments each week. This can be scheduled at the foster parent's convenience.

Thank you for considering helping us save more animals' lives!
