The American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks raise awareness and funds to save lives from breast cancer. Join us to celebrate survivors and remember loved-ones lost. It's a day that shouldn't be missed and won't be forgotten.
We are looking for volunteers to help with a variety of jobs on Sunday, October 27th at the New London County Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. This is a great opportunity for individuals or groups!
Available opportunities:
- A.M. route set up: 5 volunteers to help get the walk route coordinated and properly marked, 9 - 10 am
- A.M. site set up: 5 volunteers to help set up tables in tents and unload day of materials, 9 - 10 am
- Registration tent: 3-5 volunteers. Responsibilities include checking in participants and teams, as well as accepting day of event donations. (training provided in advance), 10am -12:30pm
- Walk route volunteers: 10-20 volunteers help cheer on the survivors and caregivers as they walk the route, 12 - 1pm
- Finance volunteers: 2-3 volunteers. Responsibilities include counting money turned in on the day of event and ready funds for deposit. Training provided in advance. Secure location also provided. 10:30 am - 1 pm
- P.M. site cleanup: 5-10 volunteers to assist with event break down, 1- 2:30pm (super helpful volunteer role)
