The Scranton Composite Squadron, of the Civil Air Patrol, seek volunteers with an interest in serving within their community. Primarily to do squadron managerial duties and working with youth members within the cadet program. In addition to position specific duties, all members are encouraged to participate in Civil Air Patrol’s Emergency Services, Aerospace Education, and Cadet Program missions. A wide variety of Emergency Services and other training opportunities are available if desired.
The Scranton Composite Squadron is primarily dedicated to the implementation of the CAP Cadet Program, which encourages young people between the ages of 12 and 20 to develop leadership skills, meet physical and intellectual challenges, and serve their local communities by taking aerospace education to the youth, and serve in search & rescue and disaster relief.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Good organizational, people, and communication skills.
- Aged 18 or older.
- Willingness to become a member of the Civil Air Patrol and comply with all internal regulations and procedures
- Ability and willingness to commit for a minimum of one year.
- Ability to pass a federal and state background check.
- Enthusiasm for community service and working with youth.
- Able to attend majority of weekly squadron meetings

Description
Scranton Composite Squadron is one of the squadrons in Group 4 of Pennsylvania Wing located in Northeast PA.
Squadrons in Group 4 are located in Whitehall, Easton, Quakertown, Doylestown, Tobyhanna, Jessup, Wilkes-Barre (as of August 2019).
Scranton Composite Squadron meets every Monday 6:30 pm to 9 pm at Lackawanna Public Safety Center in Jessup PA.
Civil Air Patrol’s missions for America are many, and today’s adults and cadets perform their duties with the same vigilance as its founding members - preserving CAP’s 75-year legacy of service while maintaining its commitment to nearly 1,500 communities nationwide.
