SAMA Volunteer Position Social Medica Officer

Job Description:

The Social Media officer is responsible for posting SAMA programs progress, events, and announcements to SAMA members, collaborators and partners via all SAMA social media. The officer will use written and verbal skills to create a wide range of communication material to promote the organization. By communicating effectively with the target audience, the officer seeks to build a positive reputation for the organization.

Reports to:

SAMA Executive Director

Training will be provided.

Responsibilities:

The communications officer will provide:

• Information about the organization programs through all official SAMA social media.
• News releases on the progress of SAMA programs or when new programs are approved.
• Issue media release if the organization achieves a significant milestone.
• Write news releases about organizational changes, such as the appointment of new staff or board members.
• News about significant events such as a new partnership, recognition by official bodies, or accreditation.

Time commitment:

2 - 4 hours per week

6 - 12 months depending on availability.

Starting December 1, 2020.
