HI Chicago Hostel is looking for interested in providing helpful information and suggestions to travelers. The right candidates will enjoy working in a high energy, busy environment as well as have the patience and understanding to work with guests from diverse backgrounds. At the information desk volunteers will have the chance to converse and engage with travelers from around the world while answering questions about the Chicago area and the attractions it has to offer.

  • No Experience Needed - We’ll provide you with all the necessary training
  • Time Commitment is semi-flexible. Volunteers are asked to commit to a minimum one hour shift per week.
  • Must be 18 years or older to volunteer

Who We Are

We bring travelers together in the largest hostel network in the USA, but that’s just the start: from local tours and experiences, to experiential learning programs, HI USA strives to bring moments of cultural understanding to our guests and community members. HI USA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, member-based organization that reinvests our surpluses back into our hostels and programs so they can have an even greater impact, year after year.
