Proactive Event Planner Needed!

We have volunteers to work events, however, we are in need of a team leader. This volunteer would be in charge of scheduling the event planning meetings and making sure everyone stays on task. An annual event calendar would be given to you; you would simply be proactive in getting the volunteers together to plan the events and then follow up to keep them all on task.

You'll have a lot of support - all marketing material is already created, venues booked, and volunteers are available - you just need to lead the charge. The majority of this can be done from your home via phone and email.

Our annual events:

January or February - Purses for Purrs, designer purse auction

May - Cash for Cats, online appeal plea

October - Alleys for Alley Cats, bowling and Polish dinner

November - Cabernet for Cats, pottery painting

December - Pet Refuge bazaar, cat toys sale

If you're detail oriented and proactive, this is a great position for you!

About The Meow Mission

Location:

2915 E Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend, IN 46615, US

Mission Statement

Our mission is to: 1) humanely and proactively reduce the free-roaming cat population of northwestern Indiana/southwestern Michigan 2) eliminate the barriers free-roaming cat caretakers encounter with spaying and neutering colony cats 3) educate the community on the merits and methods of trap/neuter/return practices

Description

Michiana faces a problem most communities face - an overpopulation of free-roaming cats. A significant amount of these cats are tame, discarded pets. Feeling compassion, many families (referred to as "colony caretakers") feed these community cats. Unfortunately, a great deal of the cats are found in low-income neighborhoods. Without our intervention, these cats will continue to breed, overwhelming our city’s residents and animal control in a never-ending cycle. With your help, we are able to reach out to these kind-hearted citizens and offer them the financial support needed to spay and neuter our community’s discarded and free-roaming cats.
