Austin Angels wants to match passionate volunteers to mentor and support youth in foster care through our Dare to Dream program. Mentors will build relationships, provide opportunities for new, fun experiences, and teach life skills with the hope of creating positive outcomes and independent living skills for youth experiencing foster care. Volunteers commit to working with a youth for one full year and will meet with their mentee in person at least 2x/month to spend intentional time together. We currently need male mentors for 8 mentees on our waitlist located in Travis and Hays counties, as well as female mentors in the Hutto/Thrall/Taylor area for 4 female mentees waiting. Volunteers who are interested can attend a virtual info session for more detailed information! RSVP for info sessions at this link: https://calendly.com/austinangels/austin-angels-information-session

Description

Austin Angels is a foster care non-profit that was created to help empower children and build sustainable foster homes. Our community-based programs utilize a trauma-informed, wrap-around model to strengthen relationships between children/youth in care, fostering & biological families & the community at-large. Our volunteers & mentors are intentionally matched with fostering families & youth based on location, compatibility & scope of needs. At Austin Angels we believe in the power of love and the value of friendship and positive role models for kids in foster care, and we look forward to connecting volunteers with families and children to provide those relationships and supports!
