Are you looking for a low-key service opportunity? We encourage you to check out our Monthly Program Prep Days! These events are crucial by working on prepping art and science materials for our free afterschool and community programming here at the center. For these events, volunteers will not be engaging with children or the community but will need necessary art skills such as cutting, gluing and measuring. Some of the tasks you may be assisting with are the following:
- Laminating science education materials and cutting them out
- Prepping activity materials for Discovery Saturday
- Building templates of masks or other crafts for Pre-K Art Days
Monthly Program Prep Days are the first Tuesday of every month from 4 pm-6 pm. You can register for these events by following the links below.

The Living Arts & Science Center (LASC) is a not-for-profit organization providing creative and unique opportunities in the arts and sciences for children and adults. Founded in 1968, the LASC now serves over 40,000 individuals annually through art and science exhibits, classes, workshops and community programs. The LASC provides programs and services in our own facility as well as in schools, social service agencies, community centers, libraries and at community events.
