Family House is a Pittsburgh based nonprofit who provides affordable lodging for hospital patients, who are coming to Pittsburgh to receive medical treatment, and their families.
Every year Family House hosts a Polo Match. Polo is our largest event of the year and is held at Hartwood Acres in Hampton Twnship. This event is entirely staffed by volunteers and we could really use your help! We are seeking out folks who are interested in volunteering either the day of Polo or, on the Wednesday before Polo, when we will need help setting up.
This year's match will take place on Saturday, September 14th and volunteering is broken up into shifts. If you volunteer to work a shift, you will receive free entry to the event.

Family House provides a special "home away from home" for adult patients and/or their families who must travel to Pittsburgh for treatment of serious or life-threatening illnesses.
Description
By offering convenient, affordable housing in a home-like environment, through a network of support, comfort and compassion, Family House reduces emotional and financial stress for people facing a desperate medical crisis in a city where they are strangers.
Family House currently has three houses operating: University Place at 116 Thackeray Street, Neville at 514 N Neville Street, and Shadyside at 5245 Centre Avenue.
