AlterMed Research Foundation takes an integrative approach with health and medicine for human wellness, instead of reductionism of body parts. AlterMed Research Foundation is looking for an ongoing full-time or part-time Executive Director (ED) volunteer who is passionate about evidence-based integrative / holistic medicine, and can take AlterMed board's vision and mission, and grow the organization to the next level of sustainability, and thus make a bigger impact for human wellness. We aim to prevent cancer and chronic illness & improve patient experience so all people can be well, leveraging evidence-based holistic / integrative medicine / lifestyle changes (epigenetics), and the power of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, genetics / genomics, and data science using Holistic / Lifestyle datasets.

The medical and healthcare industries are undergoing an unprecedented technological advancement with Artificial Intelligence, robotics, wearables, big data / genomics, and other -omics etc. Different healthcare tools / modalities can be helpful at different times since everyone is unique.

Because the current ED is retiring and will be continuing on the Board of Directors, we are looking for a new ED, who has a passion in evidence-based holistic health and integrative medicine, preferably has previous non-profit, leadership, and team-building / bridging experience and skills to fulfill its mission and take it to the next level of operational excellence and community support, leveraging the latest technologies through others (e,g, data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, genomics, etc.) to create personalized health / lifestyle recommendations for patients with cancer and chronic illness, and for prevention. This is a volunteering position with mentorship from the existing ED, and has the potential to grow into a paid position depending on the organization's operational funding which can be secured under the new ED leadership.

The ideal candidate must have a strong background in various non-profit areas such as strategic planning, leadership / community building, delegating, fundraising/ development / grant-writing, budgeting, program management, marketing / social media / communications, and people management.

The mission of AlterMed Research Foundation is to be a change agent, through education, patient access, research to achieve the full integration of evidence-based complementary and alternative medicine into conventional healthcare so all people can enjoy optimum wellness. AlterMed plans to continue in 3 areas: (1) Education (e.g. Colorado Integrative Medicine Conference), (2) Research (funding quality integrative medicine research at universities), and (3) Patient Access of personalized and evidence-based integrative / holistic medicine.

This candidate must have a clean personal financial credit history and pass both credit and background checks for this opportunity. A candidate with college / master's degree in the health sciences, and a minor in business, with an interest in evidence-based whole-person integrative health and the latest technologies in health, is preferred.

This volunteer must be a US Citizen and / or a legal US resident (preferably located in Northern Colorado)
