Mission Statement
Design Heals is a 501c3 organization founded by Parker Interiors Staging & Redesign, whose mission is to use interior design, decorating services and furniture resources to service people who are in need. Born out of the realization that everyone; no matter their situation, is affected by their surroundings. Design Heals creates spaces to promote unity, peace and balance in an otherwise unbalanced world. We focus on foster children, battered women, homelessness, and those battling cancer.
Description
Parker Interiors is one of the Washington DC area's largest home staging companies. For over two years, the staff of Parker Interiors has been volunteering its talents and donating furniture to people in need through its Design Heals program. For example, Design Heals gave an extreme makeover for a new foster mom and her foster children. Our volunteer team painted and installed new furniture and decor to create a space for the family that exudes joy and peace. Sarah’s Hope, a comprehensive family shelter that provides 24 hour services for 80 homeless families in Baltimore is another organization that Design Heals had the privilege of completely redecorating the family and kids recreational space. Design Heals goal was to create a safe and creative play area that would give children a place to have fun, while encouraging families to spend time with one another. The Sara's Hope Program Director later said, "Our families really enjoyed exploring all of the new additions. You were incredibly thoughtful and intentional about our space and thinking about what our families would really need and want- thank YOU!"
