Green Thumb located off Portland Ave in Tacoma is one of the oldest community gardens in the county that Harvest Pierce County supports. This garden has experienced a number of hardships over the years including theft, vandalism, decline in membership, and other nuances of being positioned in a low-income urban neighborhood. Without members, it can be fairly challenging to maintain the garden.
We're looking for rock star volunteers to help us with garden improvements and maintenance. Duties may include but are not limited to:
-mulching pathways
-weeding
-berry patch maintenance
-trellising
-shoveling Tagro (soil)
-mowing
-fence maintenance
If you're interested in building community and don't mind getting a little dirty, come join us!
