Each year Cornerstones collects thousands of backpacks to support our community. This year we are already preparing to help equip nearly 3,000 K-12 children in the Reston-Herndon area (Cornerstones’ clients, as well as other local students in need) with brand-new backpacks for the next academic year. Volunteers are mainly needed to sort backpacks based on age and gender. Volunteers will also prepare these donations in bags for pick-up.
When: Monday, August 5th to Tuesday, August 13 th from 9:00am-2:00pm
Who: Volunteers must be at least 8 years old. Volunteers under the age of 16 will need adult supervision

Description
Cornerstones helps individuals and families survive tough economic times in an already high cost-of-living community. Through advocacy and support services, we connect our clients to the vital resources they need to build more self-sufficient lives. Our success comes from a comprehensive array of programs, wrap-around services that solve urgent or on-going requirements for housing, childcare, food or financial assistance all with the goal to sustain healthy families, secure housing, and financial independence.
