Volunteer Job Description
Job Title: Volunteer Help Center Administrative Support
Department: Kennel & Facilities
Schedule: 5-10 hours/ week (flexible schedule)
Reports To: Kennel & Facilities Manager
General Scope: Following the Service Enterprise model, this Volunteer will work with the Help Center team to assist with the administrative needs of this position as they work together to provide help and support to pets and their families in our community.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
- Monitor & Track Help Center Voicemail
- Update Digital Caseload Documentation
- Database Record Creation & Basic Data Entry
- Call & Confirm Client Appointments
- Responsible for tracking volunteer hours in Volgistics, or communicating this information directly to the Volunteer Coordinator.
Specific Job Skills:
- Active, Adult SICSA Volunteer
- Computer savvy
- Enthusiastic about teamwork
- Ability to work well with staff, fellow Volunteers & the public as needed to support SICSA’s mission
- Willingness to learn
- Dependability; strong work ethic & self-starter
Preferred Background Education and/or Experience:
- Current SICSA member in good standing
- Prior CRM experience
- Prior experience with developing training materials
- Prior/ongoing experience with dogs and/or cats
- Opinions/beliefs consistent with the mission of SICSA
- Volunteers are encouraged to continuously expand knowledge
& skills by attending courses through Paws & Tails University
- We will train anyone willing to learn

In 1974, a group of dedicated individuals committed to offering Kettering Ohio, Dayton and the Miami Valley an alternative to the traditional animal welfare system, came together and created the Society for the Improvement of Conditions for Stray Animals (SICSA).
For over 40 years, people in the Miami Valley have supported SICSA in a partnership of caring to build a strong humane animal community.
