THE MEDICAL TEAM Hospice is seeking a Pet Therapist to assist with the enhancement of patient care. The presence of a pet can help reduce the effects of dementia-anxiety, agitation, irritability, depression and loneliness. Pet therapy may provide physical activity, be a communication outlet, provide emotional support , give the person a sense of purpose and allow them enjoyment. Someone in the role would be sensitive to the emotional, spiritual and physical needs of the patients, family and caregivers, be consistent with agreed visits. For Pet Therapy: must have pet certification for pet therapy, have all needed shots, and keep these areas up to date and current.

We follow the CDC guidelines and when visiting people in facilities mask are required. We will provide those. If patient have come in contact with COVID or report sign and symptoms, Volunteers will be put on hold during quarantine period. Volunteers are asked to complete a screening and take temperature on days they visit patients and asked not to see people if they have signs or symptoms.
