Life Guards are responsibile for maintaining safety standards around the Aquatic area. This could include testing water, adding/adjusting chemicals to the pool, ensuring pool rules are observed by patrons, assist with swimming classes, help with setting up ropes in pool for classes or lap swim, use correct open/close procedures to keep safety standards, monitor pool temperature.
Swim coach/swim instructors are also needed. These do not required lifeguard certifications; prefer previous experience, but will train.

Mission Statement
Being part of a larger organization, but operating on our own, Danvers Community YMCA' mission statement reflects the movement of the Y's worldwide. Currently a highly respected association in the community since 1932, our mission 'to provide innovative programs that positively influence the quality of life for our members, our families, and our communities," is central in our efforts to focus on "build strong kids, strong families, and strong communities." Offering a whole body approach, we focus on offering activities that contribute to minds, bodies, spirits and social wellness. Providing over 75 programs, classes, and services to our members and partidipant, we are proud to be viewed as a community center, instead of just a fitness center. We are not in competition with other gyms because we provide services and programs that meet the needs of body, mind, and soul. The majority of our programs involve all people in our community. Volunteers are an intricate part of our community and the foundation of our organization.
Description
For youth, we offer licensed Preschool, Kindergarten Enrichment, and After School care as well as approximately twenty-five enrichment activities which young people participate in. For adolescents, we offer a Middle School After School Program, fitness programs, swim programs, open gym times, organized basketball, free weights and special sports clinics and programs. In the summer, we offer three day camp options to give parents flexibilityon locations and times. Adults and Older Adults may participate in many of the same options as our teens; however, we do offer specific programs just for this age group in exercise, aquatics, basketball leagues, racquetball, as well as special events.
