On the SECOND Saturday of the month we gather in Logan Square and prepare food, clothing and other comfort items to share with our unhoused neighbors in Chicago. We alternate our distribution schedule between downtown and Garfield Park. As a Service Day Afternoon Volunteer- Downtown, you'll be sharing the prepared meals, clothing and comfort items with the community in direct connection. We meet at Clinton and Lake (there is a parking lot and pink and green line stop) and start walking with our wagons full of love and food and clothing and meet people where they are.

About CHICAGO BRIDGE PROJECT
Location:
1215 N HONORE ST APT 4, CHICAGO, IL 60622, US
Mission Statement
The Chicago Bridge Project builds community by sharing warm food and clothing with our most vulnerable neighbors.
Description
The Chicago Bridge Project is a food and clothing rescue that collects excess ingredients and foodstuffs from restaurants and events and clothing from laundries and dry cleaners. We meet once a month to sort the clothing, prepare a delicious meal, and create hand-made greeting cards and comfort kits of toiletries and other niceties. We package up the meal courses in single serving containers, load up our cars with food and clothing and head out to meet our neighbors in need. We engage them where they are - on the street - and offer friendship, community, clothing and a meal prepared with love.
