The volunteer’s role in hospice care includes patient/family and /or administrative support. Volunteers can provide direct support in the patient’s home or a nursing facility with the purpose of companionship and /or caregiver relief.Some volunteers help the family/patient celebrate special occasions like birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays.Administrative volunteers primarily work in our hospice office filing and /or assisting with mailings.

- Time spent is completely up to the volunteer. Can be up to 2 hours a week or more if volunteer wishes so.
- Orientation about hospice with light reading material. A TB and Drug test is also reqired along with the Background check.
