Join our West Valley Hospice Family Care Team today! We provide patient care in patient/family home settiings, in group home/assisted living communities, facilities/Skilled Nursing Facilities. As a volunteer member of our team you will be valued for your ability to provide emotional support, compassionate listenting, reading/magazine browsing, playing games, or just being present and watching TV with patients who need a human presence in their life for an hour/few hours per week. One of our volunteers brought a Vogue Magazine to share with a patient who could not turn the pages. This patient was close to 100 years of age, and spent an hour laughing with the volunteer. This patient told our volunteer that she wore a full jumper with hat when she last went swimming, and couldn't believe what we now call a swimsuit! The life stories and experiences that patients share with our volunteers are fun, touching, and sometimes sad, but always heartwarming! Join us as we make our patient's journey a rich experience, and enrich your own journey as well.
