Event Description: RSVP on our website: https://onebrick.org/node/2364803
Help out at this celebratory morning with hundreds of families from across Boston and beyond who have taken a TGH digital skills course, secured a much-needed computer, and connected to affordable Internet. The Tech Goes Home Summer Celebration is fun for the whole family! Our Tech Goes Home community helps participants gain access to the skills, hardware, and access needed for 21st century success. 75% of our participants have household incomes under $20,000, and 45% have a primary language that is not English. In prior years we have held a more formal graduation for students at Faneuil Hall. While nice, we received overwhelming feedback from graduates that they would prefer a family-friendly activity. Our Summer Celebration started in 2017 and has been a huge success so far. Our goal is to stay connected with graduates and encourage them to urge family and friends to sign up for free classes.
What we'll be doing: RSVP on our website: https://onebrick.org/node/2364803
Volunteers will be assisting with logistical tasks at the event. Duties may incldue event set-up help, welcoming guests, and assistance with our food table. Other potential tasks include: * people to help lead a fun BINGO game for guests * Facepainters / facepainting line managers - beginners welcome * Craft table helpers - no skills needed, except liking kids! The event manager will provide more details closer to the date of the event. What you should know:
This event is rain or shine. There will be coffee and snacks available for volunteers
NOTE: This event is wheelchair accessible and is able to accommodate volunteers with disabilities. If you require any accommodations, please let the event manager know, so we can work with the nonprofit hosting the event to make necessary accommodations. Thank you!
Where to Meet:Please meet in the Lacrosse Field #1 at Joe Moakley Park, near Carson Beach. Look for the big group of pop-up tens in the middle of the park. The One Brick event manager will provide more details closer to the date of the event.
Joe Moakley Park is a short walk from the MBTA Red Line (JFK/UMass) and many bus lines. It's also across from Carson Beach so you can enjoy some sun and sand once you are done volunteering. It is recommended you use public transportation as local parking is extremely limited, as the event is near a popular beach.More opportunities with One Brick Boston

Mission Statement
One Brick provides support to local non-profit and community organizations by creating a unique, social and flexible volunteer environment for those interested in making a concrete difference in the community. We enable people to get involved, have an impact and have fun, without the requirements of individual long-term commitments.
Description
Headquartered in San Francisco, California, One Brick is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that brings volunteers together to support other local non-profits by adopting an innovative twist to the volunteer experience: we create a friendly and social atmosphere around volunteering, and after each volunteer event -- which typically lasts only 3 to 4 hours -- we invite volunteers to gather at a local restaurant or caf where they can get to know one another in a relaxed social setting.
Our 'commitment-free volunteering' allows you to choose when you volunteer, rather than having to make commitments for a certain number of volunteer hours, or agree to be available every week at a specific time.
