Did you know that over 57,000 children in Utah live in poverty? That number could fill 1,611 school buses! Many of these children's families cannot afford backpacks and school supplies. The new school year is right around the corner and one of the most important times of the year in a child’s life will begin.
Salt Lake City Mission will be hosting its Fifth Annual "Back to School Giveaway" to benefit less fortunate children here in our own city. The goal is to provide over 1,000 children with backpacks, school supplies, and clothing, all for free!
This event will not only provide children in need with school supplies, clothing, and other essential items, we will also be providing food, fun, excitement, and a day full of activities and prizes for families who have less reasons to smile!
You can help by donating any school supplies children may need (including but not limited to backpacks, notebooks, crayons/colored pencils, glue sticks, etc.) children's shoes, or even clothing!

Salt Lake City Mission is called to minister to families caught in the cycles of poverty, hopelessness, and dependencies of many kinds. We are committed to helping the people we serve change their lives and again become self-sufficient, productive members of society. Since 1993, we’ve provide necessities such as food, clothing, hygiene items, rehabilitation and outreach programs to the working poor and homeless.
