The Walk-On Foundation (TWOF) is looking for a Computer Club Instructor that will lead the classroom elective for students at the 5th grade level. This is a great opportunity for high school grads, college students, or recent college grads to work with other teaching professionals in a dynamic learning environment. We desire someone who is technically inclined, responsible, punctual, love children, patient, and has a good sense of Humor!
The resources we utilize to educate students on coding is through a partnership with CodeSpark Academy, an entity that has had their program and research backed by MIT and Princeton. This technology is utilized for its ability to make computer science accessible to kids everywhere. It is a word-free interface that makes learning a possibility for pre-readers and non-English speakers. CodeSpark also aims to close the gender gap by utilizing game mechanics that increases engagement in girls by up to 20% and inspiring girl characters in aspirational professions.
Experience is preferred but not necessary.
We offer the ability to utilize this opportunity for college credit.
Position available for September 2019
Candidates must:
- Have experience working with children
- Have patience, energy, enthusiasm, and be able to provide a supportive and encouraging environment for children
- Be flexible with schedule
- Have high school Diploma

- Pattern Recognition
- Problem Solving
- Empathy
- Accountability

- TWOF aims to utilize the best resources and partnerships to make sure that tools and resources are accessible.
- There is no cost to the schools we partner with, costs if any are managed by TWOF.
- TWOF partners with the schools to provide scholarships to one boy and one girl who highlighted excellence/improvement in STEM at graduation.
- TWOF offers backpacks and school supplies to students at the start of the academic year.
