Adoption Assistant - We are looking for someone to help with many facets of the adoption process. From 2pm - approximately 3pm, we need this person to pay attention to making sure that the stock levels of the free food are stocked, along with making sure the cat boxes are stocked.
From 3pm - 430(appx) you will help retrieve cats and dogs from kennels to bring up for adoption ONLY from the adoptable kennels. If animal is in any other kennel, a staff member will get. You will also assist adopter with bring supplies and animal to their vehicle. Other duties could be assigned.
(6 positions (Mon - Sat 2pm - 430pm)) (If a volunteer wants to do more then one shift they are allowed to.
Must be 18 years old and have a camera phone to take pictures.

Description
Kern County Animal Services is a department organization under the jurisdiction of the County of Kern. The primary function of Kern County Animal Services (KCAS) is to ensure public protection from dangerous domesticated animals and from diseases that can be transmitted from animals to humans. The primary activity of KCAS is the Rabies Control Program. The state law defining the Rabies Control Program includes requirements for the licensing of dogs, rabies vaccination for dogs, animal bite reporting, animal quarantine, stray animal services, and a shelter system. Other services provided to the public by KCAS include low-cost vaccination clinics; investigation of animal cruelty; dead animal removal and disposal; promotion of spaying and neutering; and public education.
