Ushers are volunteers that come in 1-2 hours before the show begins to help us set up, run concessions, and welcome audiences. They may also have small duties during intermission and after the production. A house manager will show you the task when you arrive. In return, you are welcome to see the show for free.
It is easy to sign up for your preferred date(s) online, and there is no prior training needed! 90% of our productions are inside with air conditioning, and we are happy to work with your unique skill set. Many of our volunteers come back for all of our productions! You can also sign up with a friend! You set your schedule and volunteer as little or as much as you like.

Description
Burning Coal Theatre Company is an intimate, professional theatre in downtown Raleigh. We are located in the historic Murphey School Auditorium, which was the school that ended Raleigh segregation in 1960. We usually produce re-imagined classics and new works that connect deeply to our social environment today. All volunteer ushers are able to see our shows for free. We also offer discounts to seniors and military/veterans.
