Climate Generation is looking for an experienced volunteer comfortable with videography to film at our 14th annual Summer Institute for Climate Change Education, where educators from across the country will come to learn how to teach climate change in the classroom.

Volunteer will be responsible for capturing B-roll of the Institute, including clips of educators at workshop sessions, Institute speakers, field trip around Washington, D.C.'s city climate action plan, and more. Our organization is aiming to capture the power of our programming.

Potential opportunity to interview staff and educators is possible.

Preference for volunteer to bring own DSLR equipment. You do not need to be available for all three days of the Institute. We can have short recording times delegated where we think the most "interesting" content will happen for film.

This footage would be owned by Climate Generation, and used in promotional materials for our programming and fundraising.

Interested? Contact lauren@climategen.org.

Mission Statement

Climate Generation: A Will Steger Legacy empowers individuals and their communities to engage in solutions to climate change.

Description

Climate change is defining this generation: everyone alive today. This generation has been the first to really experience the effects of climate change and will have the biggest influence on how we address it.

Our organization was founded by polar explorer, Will Steger, based on his powerful eyewitness to climate change from over 50 years exploring the polar regions and his determination to engage people in the issue and solutions. Our culture of innovation flows from Steger’s entrepreneurial spirit and his accomplishments in exploration, education, and advocacy.

We recognize the power of eyewitness accounts and personal story, acknowledging that as our world warms, we all have a climate story to tell. Our programs work to realize our vision: a world of resilient communities with equitable solutions to climate change.

We provide educators, youth, policymakers, communities, and business leaders with the resources and opportunities to engage in solutions to climate change. Across these audiences, our programs work through three core pieces of engagement:

  • Build climate literacy
  • Develop powerful climate advocates
  • Elevate leadership
