Help Connect Seniors to Services

ORGANIZATION: Norwescap RSVP

  • 3 people are interested

Volunteers must be 18 years or older.

Volunteers are needed to help retrieve messages and return calls as part of our Senior Reach program. Senior Reach is an award winning program that has proven highly successful in decreasing depression, anxiety, feelings of hopelessness and social isolation among seniors. The mission is to support the well-being, independence and dignity of older adults by educating the community, providing care management and mental health services, and connecting older adults to community resources.

The call center volunteer will receive referrals from a range of community partners regarding a senior of interest who is at risk of a mental illness or in need of services within the community. While receiving a referral, the volunteer will gather and note as much information about the senior as possible from the community partner. The volunteer will then reach out to the senior of interest and perform a screening assessment to glean the senior's needs, including care management services, transportation services, recreational activities. After the screening, the volunteer will put the senior in contact with already existing organizations in the community to access all the resources he or she needs to have the best quality of life!
