Beacon House is looking for a volunteer to help us develop and coordinate our new volunteer program!

Beacon House, which is located in Pacific Grove, California, provides residential and outpatient substance use disorder services to adults from across the country.

As one of the first treatment centers in the Western United States, Beacon House has helped thousands achieve lasting sobriety from alcohol and drugs. Beacon House understands what is necessary to achieve a lifetime of recovery. As a non-profit, we invest all resources in delivering the highest level of individualized care while providing affordable drug and alcohol rehabilitation services.

The Volunteer Coordinator will work with our admin team to help develop and coordinate a volunteer program, including:

  • Drafting volunteer position descriptions
  • Communicating with volunteer applicants
  • Working with volunteer applicants to complete state licensing requirements (background checks, health screens, etc)
  • Scheduling volunteers for shifts/ work at Beacon House
  • Organizing volunteer training workshops
  • Advertising the volunteer program via local and regional channels (AA community, NA community, etc.)

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Computer proficient, including Microsoft word, social media, email, etc.
  • Highly organized, motivated, self-starter
  • Some experience with coordinating volunteers or other similar programs preferred.

Schedule is flexible within regular office hours (M-F 9am-5pm). 4-8 hours per week. Community Service hours available.
