We have an immediate need for volunteers to serve as friendly visitors for patients in their homes or at a skilled nursing facility. Whether it’s visiting patients, honoring our veteran patients at a pinning ceremony, reading, playing an instrument, singing, or creating art with patients your gifts are priceless! Heartland Hospice provides training and flexible schedules for all volunteers. We hope you will join us today as we serve those who need it most in Berkeley, Dorchester and Charleston Counties, South Carolina.
Please contact Sheryl Jamison, Volunteer Coordinator, at 843-766-7646 to learn how to become a volunteer with Heartland Hospice. You can also email lasherrald.jamison@hcr-manorcare.com for more information.

Mission Statement
Hospice isn’t a place. It’s a philosophy of care. Our mission is called enriching life. Heartland Hospice is dedicated to providing patients with care wherever they consider home. Whether care is desired in the home a patient has lived in for years, a skilled nursing center or an assisted living facility, we tailor our caregiving to fit the patient’s and family’s unique needs.
Description
Heartland’s caregivers enrich our patients’ lives and provide support by developing individualized care plans, setting goals, encouraging personal choices, working together in caregiving decisions, and supporting meaningful experiences. Our caregivers help manage pain and symptoms, enabling patients to live life as fully and comfortably as possible. Volunteers are the heart of the hospice team! Volunteers offer support and companionship to patients and their families. Social workers and Spiritual Counselors create a comforting environment in which patients and families are able to share their thoughts, hopes, and concerns. We also have special bereavement programs that provide emotional support to patients and families who need help coping.
