One of the programs we run is Upson House Transitional Housing. The Upson House, the only housing unit we own, is a duplex designated for victims of domestic abuse. Here, families can regain self-sufficiency in a low-rent environment. We connect them with resources they can go to during their journey and help them towards being independent once more.
Currently, one side of the duplex is in dire need of a coat of paint. The unit contains a kitchen, living room/dining room, 3 bedrooms, a hallway, and a bathroom. We are unable to move anyone in until this task has been completed. If you or your group are looking for a project that will give back to community members in need, please contact us! Both we and the next residents of the Upson House will be extremely grateful.

Mission Statement
The mission of Housing Opportunities of Warsaw is to encourage and expand safe and affordable housing by providing opportunity and choice through investment in people and communities.
Description
Housing Opportunities of Warsaw is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of low-income homeowners in Kosciusko County. We provide a mix of repair and educational programs that both assist homeowners with necessary home repairs and teach them to treat their homes as assets.
Our owner-occupied rehab programs come in to play when financial back breakers occur - a homeowner’s furnace goes out, their roof leaks, their sewage line bursts; the list is extensive. For low-income homeowners, these expenses often seem impossible to handle - even the emergencies. These OOR programs apply both to conventional homes and mobile homes, working with homeowners to arrange for repairs that are repayable in a way that fits their budget.
Our educational courses include Lifecycles of Homeownership - which teaches all kinds of homeowner tips such as how to lower your property taxes, how to prioritize handling debts, and how to network to maintain a home on limited income - and Home Energy Impact, which teaches homeowners how to make their homes energy efficient and provides materials to do so.
