This is an unpaid, part-time position where volunteers can make visits to hospice patients on your schedule and with your availability. Volunteers visit hospice patients in their home or nursing home/assisted living setting to provide companionship to terminally ill patients. Some of the services provided to patients include:
- Providing supportive presence and companionship
- Facilitating activities such as coloring, playing games, watching movies, playing music, etc.
Requirements:
The Volunteer is required to complete a volunteer application, favorably pass a background check, drug test, and PPD (tuberculosis) test and attend Palladium, LLC’s Volunteer Orientation. The Volunteer must have reliable transportation, a current driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance. This position requires that the volunteer be available for their volunteer commitment, reliable and compassionate in their duties. The Volunteer will be diligent in his/her efforts to accurately and promptly complete and file the required paperwork for each patient visit. The Volunteer will participate either in person or email, in ongoing training opportunities related to their volunteer activities.
